The Problem
Cooling system reliability was due for attention, and the lower unit needed to be removed so the water pump components could be inspected and serviced before failure caused overheating.
Work Performed
Removed lower unit for access
Inspected water pump housing and related components
Serviced pump assembly and wear parts as needed
Checked lower unit condition before reassembly
Reinstalled and aligned the gearcase
Verified cooling flow after service
The Result
The outboard was returned with serviced cooling components and verified water flow. Preventive water pump service reduced overheating risk and helped extend the life of the engine.
